MARCH IS WATER MONTH: WHY BUBBLE WORLD SOAP BUBBLES CAN ALSO TELL A STORY OF RESPONSIBLE CHOICES

March is the month dedicated to World Water Day, an occasion that encourages everyone —
companies included — to pause for a moment and reflect on a resource that is as precious as it is
often taken for granted.

For Dulcop, which since the late 1960s has worked every day with water to create Bubble World
soap bubbles, this topic is not abstract at all, but deeply concrete. It is within this context that
Dulcop has chosen to highlight its Sustainability Report, using the month dedicated to water not
only to share what has already been achieved, but also the goals planned for water management
in the medium and long term.

Late with the first report, ahead of schedule in action

The publication of Dulcop’s first Sustainability Report was not rushed. On the contrary, the care

and attention devoted to its creation reflect a very precise choice: to communicate results only
when achievements have become real and measurable.

Although our company’s practical approach and attention toward the environment are certainly not
new, 2025 marked a truly important phase of growth for us. A phase that includes, among other
things:

  • The completion of the relocation to our new production headquarters in Castel San Pietro
Terme (Bologna), designed to be automated, sustainable, and more energy efficient
  • The development of new formulations, including the Bubble World indoor formula, created
by Dulcop’s Research & Development department to allow children to play indoors without
    leaving water or residue behind

  • The creation of an anti-spill bubble bucket, a truly magical solution against the waste of
bubble liquid typically caused by the spontaneous movements of our youngest consumers.

The 2024 Sustainability Report therefore becomes the story of an even more tangible evolution,
one that is also reflected in Bubble World products themselves

Water at the center: less waste, more value

When talking about Bubble World soap bubbles, water is the essential element.

Precisely for this reason, Dulcop is investing in systems aimed at reducing water consumption by 15–20%, with an
even more ambitious goal: achieving total water reuse by 2027 through filtration systems even
more advanced than those currently in use.

A new system is also being studied to recover wastewater generated from production waste and
reintroduce it for domestic uses, such as maintaining green areas, eliminating every avoidable
form of waste.

At Dulcop, sustainability does not remain confined to production processes — it is also reflected in
the evolution of Bubble World soap bubbles themselves. As mentioned above, new solutions such
as the indoor bubble formula and the magical anti-spill bucket were developed specifically to
optimize the use of resources while also improving the play experience: less wasted water, less
spilled liquid, and more opportunities to play all year round, even indoors.

Dulcop’s commitment goes beyond Dulcop

What does this mean? It means that, as highlighted throughout the 2024 Sustainability Report,
through its Code of Conduct and Due Diligence policies, the company also involves its partners
and suppliers, asking them to monitor water and energy consumption, emissions, waste
management, and the use of chemical substances.

The goal is to build a supply chain that shares the same environmental and ethical principles.

Dulcop extends its responsibility to the entire lifecycle of resources, working not only on water
recovery, but also on the recovery and reuse of plastic materials.

Projects currently underway for the next two years are aimed at creating a model increasingly
close to a closed-loop system, where every resource is valued as much as possible.

In conclusion, even apparently light-hearted products such as Bubble World soap bubbles can
originate from responsible choices and from a modern industrial vision.

During the month dedicated to water, Dulcop chooses to share its journey transparently, reminding
us that every soap bubble is born from a precious resource — and protecting it is a shared
responsibility.
